SSES Course: Execution – Running Your Own Company
Why should a student apply to your course?
The course is a perfect blend between theory and practice. As a student, you will learn all about how to start a company from scratch, including the practical steps you need to take in order to launch a business that is rooted in a customer need.
What can a student expect to learn from your course?
The student can expect to be immersed into the practicalities of starting a business. Rather than speculating and guessing, you will be interacting and asking potential customers for feedback and insights to further your offering.
How would you describe an entrepreneurial mindset?
1. A person who is open-minded and curious about ideas and doing things differently, as well as evaluating new possibilities without judgement.
2. A person who simply gets things done. Being action-oriented lies at the very heart of entrepreneurship and is necessary in order to break new ground.
Why is interdisciplinarity and diversity important in education?
Diversity is important because of the simple fact that the outcomes of a diverse group way surpasses that of a homogeneous one. It’s my experience that people who get exposed to new ideas, cultures and perspectives become more open and creative, and as a result more likely to produce original ideas.
What do you most look forward to with the course?
I always look forward to introducing the art of entrepreneurship to a new batch of students. I believe everyone deserves the chance to test and experience what it’s actually like to run your own business, even if it’s for just a couple of weeks.
