Thomas Arctaedius

Dr. Thomas Arctaedius is Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, focusing on entrepreneurship education and arts entrepreneurship. Dr. Arctaedius currently teaches music entrepreneurship and developing collaborations as well as exchanges between artistic research and society.

He is also an entrepreneur who has successfully built several companies, currently Chairman of digital design and innovation agency Spring People AB. He is a founding board member of several tech companies in Stockholm.

Thomas has a PhD in Nuclear Physics from Stockholm University. He was previously Director of Enterprise and Industry Relations at the University of Stockholm as well as CEO of Stockholm University Holding AB. He was Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in 2010 where he studied innovation discovery processes. Thomas was responsible for starting Stockholm University Innovation (incubator/business accelerator) at Stockholm University, and was part of creating an incubator at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

He has worked extensively with social entrepreneurship and started the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Sweden’s first incubator for social innovations at Stockholm University in 2011. Today he is involved in three different EU projects focusing on social change and sustainability.

Thomas is also a board member at Mellanskog, a large cooperative of forest owners as well as a member of the board of the art museum Aguélimuseet. He shares his time between Stockholm, Marseille and Norberg (where he is a forest owner, including owning a small nature reserve with a medieval limestone mine).
