Nathalie Parklind

What are some of the everyday activities you perform at SSES?
I make sure our office is pleasant and runs smoothly for everyone who works here or visits us. I also take care of a lot of different administrative tasks, working in a close supporting role to SSES management and the SFS Team.

What is your proudest SSES accomplishment?
Making the office a happy and safe place for everyone. I’m also taking pride in trying to make the office as environmentally friendly as possible when it comes to everything from ordering vegetarian lunches for the team, organising the recycling, or ordering supplies and office materials with less climate impact.

What are you most grateful for in your daily work?
The variety of my tasks, my colleagues and that I’m able to bring my dog Gordon with me to work.

How do you define success?
I define success not on how much money you make but on how you use your accomplishments and influence to make the world a better place.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
To be able to fly would be pretty cool…

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Earl Grey tea with honey, always… And chocolate sometimes.

What book, movie, album, or creative work has had the most influence on you?
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, my favourite book of all time.

What was the latest event or revelation that shifted your perspective on life?
Becoming a mother.
If you were a dish, which one would you be?
Pad Thai Pak (warm, vegetarian, colourful, a bit spicy and a bit burnt around the edges)
