Marianne Castrén Hübinette

What are some of the everyday activities you perform at SSES?
I am working with all the SSES activities that we offer and make sure the “behind the scenes” work gets done smoothly. That can be anything from planning the PhD courses together with our faculty to supporting our lovely Course Assistants in their work.

What is your proudest SSES accomplishment?
The PhD course portfolio (including the networks and everything around it) that we have created and are a part of.

What are you most grateful for in your daily work?
My dear SSES colleagues, the teamwork, and the atmosphere I get to work in every day ❤

How do you define success?
If a person feels that they have accomplished what they wanted and they are happy with that, it’s a success.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
Needing less sleep and still be on top of my game? 😊

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Drama series that are set at hospitals or firehouses.

What was the latest event or revelation that shifted your perspective on life?
Becoming a parent.

If you were a dish, which one would you be?
Couldn’t come up with an answer to this and asked ChatGPT and it said that I would be a ratatouille. There were several reasons for why, but I kind of liked this one: It’s a dish that symbolises collaboration, much like your work in education, where different ingredients (or people) come together to create something extraordinary.
