The Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship is excited to announce that starting early April 2023, all assignments will be graded by AI, instead of regular human educators.
The decision comes as part of a new initiative aimed at modernising the education system and improving efficiency.
As a school of entrepreneurship, SSES prides itself on using technology in order to free up teachers’ time to focus on more important things, like finding other tasks that AI can replace.
“We believe that this is the future of education,” the Director said in a press conference. “With AI grading, we can ensure that every student is getting the same 3 seconds it takes to assess their deep and meaningful understanding of a subject.”
The announcement has sparked some concern among students, who have sent in complaint letters of varying levels of distress and panic. Naturally, a main concern is how objective an AI would be at grading their submissions. To show just how objective it can be, these complaint letters were graded by the AI and sent back to the students.
“I can’t believe they’re doing this,” one student said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “We’ve dedicated our lives to learning how to give teachers subtle compliments on their knowledge, their stage charisma, and even their ability to work the projector, and now we’re being told all those social engineering skills are no longer needed. What kind of message does that send to future students?”
“I don’t want a machine grading my essays,” another student whined, “There’s no way it can comprehend or acknowledge the begging and tears I have to perform when Microsoft Word corrupts my PDF as I’m pretending to submit it 12 seconds before the assignment deadline.”
Another teacher, using their newfound free time to reply to emails, said “If the growing flame of human inferiority is finally making students sweat in their seats and take note of what kind of future awaits them after graduation, then our job as educators is done.”
