Eddie Weitzberg, SSES Board Member and Professor, KI
Dr. Eddie Weitzberg began his career within anaesthesiology in 1987 at Karolinska University Hospital. In 1993, he earned a PhD from Karolinska Institutet for his research on how blood vessels are affected by the protein endothelin and gas molecule nitric oxide. In 2003, he was appointed professor of anaesthesiology and critical care at Karolinska Institutet.
Eddie holds several patents relating to treatment and diagnosis and he has been instrumental in starting several companies. These include Aerocrine, a listed company that uses nitric oxide to monitor, diagnose and treat inflammatory airway diseases.
