Start-up Day 2012
On April 21, 2012 over 550 participants filled the Debaser Medis to be inspired by great speakers such as Frank Meehan (Horizons Ventures), Vala Halldorsdottir and Sesselija Vilhjalmsdottir (The Startup Kids), Gustav von Sydow (Burt) and Nikolaj Nyholm (Sunstone Capital).
Start-up Day is our annual meeting place for student entrepreneurs, start-ups and investors looking for the most promising young startups.
The day was a great success and judging by the amount of action hitting twitter during the event, it captured the great start-up buzz happening right now in Stockholm. With more international investors than ever before, an invaluable network of passionate individuals and expert advice, it is no wonder the energy overflowed to Scandic Malmen for the after-mingle, where speaker Hoa Ly set the party going from the dj booth.
Having taken the road from KTH student to Horizons VC with some very successful investments, Frank Meehan explains the secret of focus and delivery, inspiring us with the courage to make that critical leap to success.
Vala Hallsdottir and Sesselja Vilhjamsdottir talk about what they learnt from interviewing over 70 entrepreneurs and investors about entrepreneurship for the documentary, The Startup Kids, and what they have used from that experience in building their own startup.
