Developing countries often rank high when it comes to entrepreneurship. A big portion of this is of course necessity based, but there are also great opportunities – for both domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. The need for new, innovative services and products is great, but may differ from the needs in “western” countries. Professor Elisabeth Gatewood will cover both the commercial and the social side of entrepreneurship in developing countries.

In the September 2011 issue of Wired magazine Stockholm was listed, alongside, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Paris, London and Moscow, as the hottest startup capital in Europe. Even more exciting is that there were no less than four SSES alumni companies listed as the companies to watch.
