Just last week Videoplaza announced a Series B funding of 80 million SEK, adding to the growing number of companies founded by SSES alumni to secure big international investments. Recently Klarna, Soundcloud, Wrapp and Tripbirds all founded by SSES alumni were recipients of substantial international investment. Not only is this great news for SSES but it brings back to our attention something that Henrik Berggren, hacker and founder of Readmill shared at Start-up Day 2011, when he recommended entrepreneurs to 'shop outside of Sweden' when they look for investors. His experience found that Swedes have a terrific reputation in Europe with VCs even saying "Oh you're Swedish, awesome. Let's sit down for a talk". Check out Henrik's talk from Start-up Day to hear other great tips to entrepreneurs looking to secure funding, then whether it's to the Valley or to Europe get out there and find your investor!
