It is perhaps the crystal tip of all that SSES has learnt, and with six inspiring students on board we have carefully launched White Label into its first orbit. There is always time for being not-quite ready with new ventures but at some point you just have to jump in, and feel it. This is the jump in moment.
The accepted students met recently for an introductory kick off in Helsinki, Finland. We visited a host of great start-ups such as PowerKiss and Grey Area and thanks to our friends at Aaltoes we took a grand tour of both Design Factory and Venture Garage over at Aalto. Cramming into an oversized garden tent, the air was a-buzz with talk of the start-up revolution before the crowd went wild for the keynote from Steve Blank. Still bubbling from Blanks pulpit lecture the entire entrepreneurship community flooded into the yard, and a networking party ensued – complete with rodeo bull and sauna! In true Finish style the White Label gang were to be seen staggering back to the hotel in the early hours of Saturday.
Between an opening session at SSES on the Transformation Economy with Ronald Jones, excited plan hatching in the Aalto Sauna and a peek head-first into Helsinki’s start-up cluster, it feels like the moment is here, we have jumped in, and White Label has begun.
