Programmes
We work with our members schools via five unique and strong centers, representing specialist competences, which together form the backbone and interdisciplinarity of the SSES curriculum.
Today, there are two entrepreneurship programs on offer from our competence centers; a Master in Bioentrepreneurship at Karolinska Institutet (KI), and an Innovation and Technology Management master programme at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
For more information about these programmes and how to apply, please visit the individual program websites at our member schools.
Master in Bioentrepreneurship
School: Karolinska Institutet
Center: Unit for Bioentrepreneurship
Worth: 120 ECTS
The Master programme in Bioentrepreneurship is tailored for students with a background in medicine, natural sciences or technology who wishes to apply this knowledge and work with the development and management of projects and companies in the life sciences field.
The core courses during the programme all revolve around the central themes of how to manage and develop life science companies. Participants will study the entrepreneurial process and the factors that drive innovation. They will learn how products in this highly regulated industry are developed with often long time spans and high costs. They will learn the specifics of the life science markets and how products are launched. They will also learn about business development and what drives the industry, such as collaborations, mergers and acquisitions.
A key concept within this programme is the application of knowledge in the real world. Therefore, many of the courses use real cases to learn from. Also, many of the lecturers are experienced business leaders who share their knowledge and experience.
